HOLY HOUR
|
|---|
On October 1, 2005 the feast of St. Therese, St. Laurence began weekly Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Sturdays for one hour from 3:45 to 4:45 P.M. More than 200 people monthly, now visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament at Holy Hour.
We would like to increase our numbers of worshipers as we offer our Holy Hour for our Church, vocations, the mentally and physically ill, our beloved deceased, the unborn, peace, the safety of our service men and women, and St. Laurence families and their intentions. The Adoration Society invites all members to renew commitments for the current year and welcomes new worshipers to honor Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament as we ask for continued blessing on St. Laurence Parish. Realizing the great devotion our parishioners have to the Blessed Sacrament and knowing that not all can make a commitment to be present on one or more Saturdays in the month, we sought an additional way to broaden participation to honor the Eucharist, and the Sanctuary Fund was established. The fund provides for the upkeep and maintenance of sacred vessels and materials used in the celebration of the Mass, sacraments and other liturgies. Offerings are made for personal intentions and/or in memory of loved ones. These remembrances allow Sancturay Society members to particpate in a special way in Adoration. Lectionaries, sacramental oils, paschal candles, candles and candelabras, Advent and Lenten sacramentals, altar linens, incense, ablution cups, Baptismal garments, altar wines, pyxes, and the maintenance and refurbishing of sacred vessels have all been contributed by the Sanctuary Society this year. Our members and those they remember share actively in a special way in the Eucharistic and sacramental life of St. Laurence. We welcome continued and new participation in our Adoration and Sanctuary Society for this year. Thank you for helping us to cherish the Eucharist: Jesus' Presence in our lives. ______________________________________________ Please complete the form below, print it, and mail it to the rectory, drop it off at the rectory, or place it in the collection basket.
